About

The name “Growls of Gratitude” was inspired by my stray dog, Rhett Butler, whom I found coming out of the woods starved. He was covered in ticks, ribs showing with a big cherry eye…a pitiful sight.

Well, now he is my chunky little man and is grateful for every day we spend together. When at first I would get too close to him, I would hear a low soft growl. This growl, I determined was not mean spirited…it was a “Growl of Gratitude”. No one could love you more than a dog that you rescue from a painful life.

The saying is so true “If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
